The Love Boat 4 May 2008

As I’ve spent much of this weekend in bed with a cold, I’ve had plenty of time for my inner-most musings. I’ve hit the usual suspects of sickness – pain, self-pity, loneliness – but persevered to dig out the deeper truth of my experience. What I came to was this: Love really is all we need. In that spirit, I give you two quotes that have been my bedside companions the entire time:

“Love is a mighty magnet. Whatever we love, we attract into our lives…Eventually each of us will realize that he or she is part of everyone else, and our love will touch everyone, because we are all one.” – Mother Love

“God’s love is in you, and because of this love you can be a radiating center of love, mighty to attract your good and to radiate good to others.” – Martha Smock

Love on, my dears, and here’s to our everlasting oneness!

So, so true. Love makes us tick doesn’t it? I look around me and I am always overcome with sadness when I see people living their hectic lives and forgetting that you need love, but more importantly, you need to give love.

I recently wrote about how I met my wife (http://angryafrican.net/2008/05/04/the-girl-i-didnt-like-or-how-i-met-my-wife/) and I can tell you that her love makes me tick each and every single day. And we have been together for almost 17 years now. Married for almost 14. And we love and enjoy each other more than then or even yesterday.

    Love.

    Oh, hope you feel better!
