Ride, Pixie, Ride 8 July 2007

Filed under: life — Jennifer @ 8:11 pm

I’ve been known to comment that Craig & his list (http://newyork.craigslist.org/) deliver up “friends, furniture & fux.” (If one’s in the market for such things, of course.) But today, he brought me Stella, my beautiful new bike. Perfect in all her retro glory, complete with basket & bell, Stella shall be my new companion for weekend urban explorations. I rediscovered the thrill of the ride while retreating & haven’t been able to get the feeling to go away. Nor would I want to. These wings need wind, baby!

I can’t wait to take her out for an official spin soon & yes, Mom, the seller even threw in a helmet.

Thanks to Eric & his delightful Dahon (http://www.dahon.com/) for reminding the Pixie to play. If anyone’s in the market for a convertible bike, I’d give this one two thumbs up, way up!

& as for Eric, he’s simply top of the line. I’d put up his picture so you could see what an incredible man looks like but the official photo release is not yet on file. As Pixiepa’s been so unnerved by the Brad Pittesque paparazzi attention since Dad’s Day, a Pixie must adhere to protocol.

Happy Sunday night & ride, reader, ride!

back from a quick trip to Pixie’s old stomping grounds. Saw Pixiepa, Pixiepa, Pixiesis, and Pixiekids. Good trip but too short.

Careful using your new wheels in flipflops. And use the bell freely. Bike bells spread smiles infectiously.

You sound just like the lady who sold it to me but thanks for the tip. Mighty boy-scouty of you, my dear.

& ring the bell, I shall!

P.S. As they say in England about your trip, “It’s alright for some, love.” I sure do miss them all!

Hello, Just wanted to let you know that I also have a new bike and would love to ride, and play in the city sometime. Love your blog, keep up the good work.
