Thanks to Jackie, here are two ways to beat the NY heat:

  1. First, go to Duane Reade, or some such place, and buy yourself an inexpensive bottle of toner or astringent and a package of cotton squares. Take the bottle home and put it in the fridge. When you get home from work at night, after a hard trek with the other commuters who are out there, take a cotton square, put some cold toner on it, and wipe your face. It feels just wonderful!
  2. Second, make up a glass of this low-calorie drink, which cools you off and quenches your thirst. Put lots of ice cubes in a tall glass. Fill the glass half full with some Crystal Light (lemonade flavor) that you have made the night before. Pour in a nice splash of grape juice. Fill the glass the rest of the way with Sprite or 7-Up or Diet 7-Up. Drink down the fizzy pink stuff and enjoy! Put your feet up and give yourself a little transition time.

Me thinks there’s a blogger in her, just waiting to be born!
