Sunday with a Softee on Top 15 July 2007

It’s official – Sunday is the best day ever! Not only did I get my spirits lifted at Unity & have a delicious Cafe con Leche meal with the Brunch Bunch afterwards, but the Air Conditioning Army came to my temperatural rescue. My apt. is now a crisp, cool 72 degrees thanks to Lynn, Eric & Michael. These three took their entire day to make what could have been a huge pain in the arse, a breeze.

Here they are, afterwards, strolling through Ft. Tryon Park en route to the New Leaf Cafe for dinner. Run by the New York Restoration Project & affectionately known to some as “Bette Midler’s Place,” the New Leaf rocks the Heights. We dined al fresco on the patio there, surrounded by squirrels & enjoyed some amazing New American cuisine. Then, much to my delight, we grabbed a Mr. Softee as we headed down the home stretch.

Today was a gift in gracious receiving. This six-titted trio I met a mere 3 weeks ago gave up their entire Sunday, joyously, then bought me dinner & ice cream to top it all off. All I had to do was say “Thank you.” While I wasn’t always an expert at that – sitting here in my apt., full, happy & sans sweat – it feels really, really good.

May the Universe sprinkle blessings upon you & Mr. Softee follow you all of your days!
